TREATMENT OF UTERINE POLLIPES

WHAT ARE POLYPS?

At first, uterine polyps are usually just a portion of tissue in the uterine cavity (endometrium), which grows larger than normal, representing a bulge, or a tiny pedicle on Transvaginal Ultrasonography. They are quite common, being sometimes asymptomatic, found only in routine exams; when they present any sign or symptom, it is represented by irregular and increased menstrual bleeding, with cramps associated or not.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT FOR POLYPS?

Dr. Rocco is a gynecologist specialized in Gynecological Endoscopy, with knowledge and experience in the clinical and surgical treatment of Uterine Polyps. During the consultation, Dr. Rocco talks to the patient to understand her history, making a complete and detailed anamnesis before clinical and ultrasound examination.

In the vast majority of cases, polyps are benign, but as around 1% to 2% can be malignant, Dr. Rocco can indicate and perform surgical treatment, aiming at the removal of the lesion, through a minimally invasive procedure, in this case called Surgical Hysteroscopy and may be outpatient or hospital.

Important: before proceeding with surgical treatment, an outpatient examination called Diagnostic Hysteroscopy can be performed, performed in the best clinics and laboratories, which seeks to visually confirm the presence of uterine or endometrial polyp.
